Bio

I am a journalist, researcher, and lecturer in media based in Rome and London.

I hold a Ph.D. in Sociology from City, University of London, and an M.A. in Media and Communications from the same university. I also have a B.A. degree in Journalism and another one in Humanities.

My research interests lie in understanding transformative aspects of the media produced from the margins of society in its technological, visual, and discursive convergence.

I am the author of Globalized Queerness: Identities and Commodities in Queer Popular Culture (Bloomsbury, 2023). Previously, I wrote The Internet, Politics, and Inequality in Contemporary Brazil (Rowman & Littlefield, 2018). I have published widely on digital activism and culture, journalism, queer media, and Brazil studies.

I teach media and society, journalism, and queer media modules at John Cabot University in Rome. I have also taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses at King’s College London and City, University of London.

I am also a photographer and an arts writer.
